The heavy equipment operator program offered at Canadian Training Institute Inc is designed to provide students with the skills and experiences needed to meet the demands of today’s employers. Our aim is to produce well-trained, professional heavy equipment operators. This course has been recently updated to ensure that graduates are meeting the demand’s of the changing work force. Students will learn about equipment operation safety, worksite job planning, pre- and post-operational inspections, preventative maintenance, basic repairs, and environmental protection.

Students will also receive training in:

• Standard First Aid • Trenching• Transportation of Dangerous Goods
• Traffic Control Person • Power Line Hazards • WHMIS 2015

Successful graduates will receive Class 08, 09A, and 03(if applicable).

Duration – 22 Weeks

Equipment
Students will train on three of the following pieces of equipment:

  • Backhoe
  • Excavator
  • Front End Loader
  • Tandem Dump Truck
Prerequisites

  • Valid Class 05 license with two years experience (required for a commercial vehicle license)
  • Grade 12 or equivalent, or mature student status
  • Any other special requirements as required by industry for licensing (i.e. medical)
