On April 28 we recognize the National Day of Mourning. On this day we remember and honour those workers who have lost their lives or have been affected by workplace injuries.
In 2013 there were 902 workplace deaths recorded in Canada. While this was the lowest number of deaths since 2000, this number still represents over two deaths per day.
Please join us, and other organizations across Canada, to renew our commitment of providing a safe workplace and learning environment for all employees and students. Observe and follow all safe working practices and procedures, report any and all unsafe working conditions, and actively participate in safety meetings and committees.
